Goodbye Canada- Hello Puerto Vallarta

Puerto Vallarta is consistently ranked as one of the top places to move to in Mexico for any foreigner who loves the sun, the beach, and natural beauty. Well, that’s exactly why Colin left Canada and moved to Mexico.

After being tired of the cold weather and wanting to retire sooner, he looked at a few countries that fit his needs and wants. “I wanted somewhere that is dog friendly, has good healthcare, somewhere with a lot of expats, and somewhere where I didn’t have to drive… and Puerto Vallarta ticks all those boxes.”

So, after a few months of extensive research, Colin moved to Puerto Vallarta from Toronto in search of warmer weather and a better quality of life.

And even though he had never been to Mexico before, he said, “I am happier here than I’ve been in years. I have no regrets.”

Because weather is so important to many Canadians looking to escape the harsh winters up north, he knew Vallarta was a good starting point. But he’s also learned that things move slower in Mexico.

“It’s a lot more relaxed than I am used to… which is WONDERFUL. And the weather suits me perfectly.”

In this video, Colin shares with us what his lifestyle looks like on about USD $2,000/month, his advice on buying a house in Mexico, the things he’s learned, and why living in Puerto Vallarta is so popular with expats moving to Mexico.
