Consider Atlixco for Retirement

Many of you have probably heard of Lake Chapala and Ajijic as one of the best weathers in the world. But have you ever heard of Atlixco Puebla?

located in the central highlands part of Mexico- Atlixco is a mountain town with eternal spring weather.

Atlixco is a town of about 100,000 people only 30 minutes away from the major city of Puebla. Atlixco is surrounded by mountains and sits at just over 6,000 ft above sea level and has temperate and cool weather year-round! In fact, Atlixco has spring-like weather more days out of the year than Ajijic. The difference is, Atlixco is not as popular with American and Canadian expats.

Which also means, you can have an authentic and very affordable lifestyle in Atlixco if you’re willing to learn some Spanish.

If you’re interested in what life can be like in Atlixco, watch my recent interview with Martha- one of our recommended private tour guides in Puebla.

She’s an American-Mexican expat who left California and moved back to Mexico after her divorce. She shares her experience moving back to Mexico, her cost of living in Atlixco, why Atlixco is popular with tourists, and how you can hire her services if you’d like a scouting trip in Puebla and Atlixco.
