I want to tell you about a pueblo magico that doesn’t get talked about a lot on all the expat forums. Today, I want to share more about living in Patzcuaro!
Patzcuaro, in the state of Michoacan, is a town of about 60,000 people. It is known for its beautiful European like infrastructure and architecture.
And because it is in the central highlands of Mexico, this town gets almost perfect weather every day. Now, one of the reasons you won’t hear a lot about Patzcuaro is that there aren’t a lot of expats here. So learning Spanish will undoubtedly be necessary. Unlike other expat havens where you can essentially get by with mostly English.
But what you will find is the authentic Mexico that you are looking for. And because there isn’t a ton of demand for real estate in this area, you’ll find that rentals and housing costs are very affordable!
Patzcuaro is an attractive place to live in Mexico for many reasons. But I want to show you what living here is like so you can see if living in Patzcuaro is right for YOU.
In this video about Living in Patzcuaro, we share:
- The history of Patzcuaro
- The neighborhoods in Patzcuaro we recommend
- Rentals in Patzcuaro
- Cost of Living in Patzcuaro
- Healthcare in Patzcuaro
- Getting around Patzcuaro

I hope you enjoy the overview as much as we enjoyed making this video for you. I’d love for you to leave a comment on the video and let me know where you are watching us from. I’d love to say Hola!
