I want to vacation for the week with a another couple in San Miguel. If I like this life then I would rent an apartment for 1-2 months a year. I lived in Guadalajara for 4 years many years ago. I love Mexico, it’s culture, food and most of all the people.
My wife and I got here from Vancouver BC on Sept 1, spend a month in a Air B&B and got a place to rent for $1200 US however, paying in US cost a 37% premium right now. We love the place we are in right in the heart of the city in Centro. We got our Permanent cards last Monday. Used a facilitator, of course.
One question Mariana: what are calling cards called here in Mexico? I need to call my sisters in the UK. I know all about What’sApp but I am old fashioned I like to dial.
Derek
I’m not sure calling cards exist anymore. Because most cellphones have apps that let you call overseas. But if you want to know the name they are called “tarjeta de telefono para llamadas internacionales”
Any chance of seeing a video like this one but on huatulco La crucecita
COMING SOON! Stay tuned
Hi Mariana,
I am reading all over the internet that the prices in SMA are rising so fast.
My plan is to be there permanently in September. (I have everything in order)
I was budgeting $1100 for rent close in but not in Centro, including
utilities. Is this doable? I have my heart set on this beautiful city, but if I must I will reconsider.
Thanks for any help.
It’s absolutely doable in your budget, but you won’t find those prices usually online. You will find them by word of mouth or by searching where the locals search and how they search (en Espanol).
A lot of Facebook groups in Spanish are also great places to find a budget-friendly rental anywhere in Mexico. Look for
“rental de casas en sSan Miguel de Allende”
Hi Mariana,
My name is Timothy. I’m interested in visiting San Miguel de Allende in Feburary and would like to chat with you about where to stay and real estate.
At this point I’m thinking I’ll rent a car and stay at a very modest hotel as I don’t plan to spend much time in the hotel.
Are you available to speak with me?
Hola Timothy!
I’m sorry, but I don’t offer phone support. But don’t worry—this is EXACTLY why our COMPLETE Mexico Relocation Guide is so valuable.
In the guide, I have detailed all of my knowledge and experience about moving to Mexico and have had professionals fact-check everything so you know you are moving to Mexico with the right and up-to-date information. The first thing to do is determine if you are eligible to move to Mexico- https://mexicorelocationguide.com/are-you-eligible-to-move-to-mexico/
If you are, then instead of jumping on a call with me (or any consultant for that matter), you get lifetime access to all the information and all the updates I make to the online guide in real-time. Things in Mexican bureaucracy change all the time, so it’s best to count on information that is up to date when you are ready to make the move. A call with a consultant could easily be outdated next month; that’s how fast things change in Mexico.
With the guide, you will not only save time on research but also headaches trying to figure out which sources have the right information.
Plus, we also give you our entire directory of vetted contacts across Mexico that can help with things like:
-Immigration
-Rentals
-Real estate
-Lawyers
-Healthcare insurance brokers
-Moving companies
-Private relocation tours
-Private drivers
-And more!
If you’re ready to move to Mexico the right way, see what our customers have to say and what’s included in the online guide here- https://mexicorelocationguide.com/guide/
Let me know if you have questions about the guide 🙂
