I am a single male 60yrs old that wants to find a city with good culture to immerse in, but love active vibrant culture and also quaint. It’s hard for me to best understand what city or coast is best – but in Puerto Morales what ‘might’ I expect to pay for a 1 bedroom with space for a pull out sofa bed / airmattress that’s furnished. I’m hoping my monthly expenses can stay under 1200 a month – because I don’t need fancy – just nice and active and safe.

      Hi Bryan
Living on $1200 is certainly doable across many cities in Mexico. But the more touristic the city, the higher the cost of living.
Also, another thing you have to consider is that requirements for Mexican residency to live legally in Mexico. https://mexicorelocationguide.com/mexico-resident-visa/
