About Us

Hola! And Welcome to Mexico Relocation Guide.

We are Dustin and Mariana Lange, owners of Mexico Relocation Guide.

My name is Mariana. I was born in Mexico City, but around 7 years old, we moved to The United States of America. My entire extended family lives in Mexico, and even though I was officially raised in the U.S., I spend so much time in Mexico every year for the summer and holidays- so I truly understand both cultures.

I love helping people discover a better life for less here in Mexico. So far, we’ve helped hundreds of expats find their perfect retirement destination in Mexico, giving them the opportunity to live debt-free and retire early- just like they deserve!

Because I’ve lived in the U.S. and Mexico, I truly understand everything from moving to Mexico to Mexican culture.

I met my husband Dustin online in 2013, and the rest is history!

A few years ago, Dustin and I were reflecting and assessing what we truly want out of the future. We were getting tired of the rat race in Austin, Texas.

The cost of living is increasing a lot, and we feel like we might have to work until we die. And I know that many people feel the same way. They know they don’t want to work forever, but they don’t see any other way to afford their life. We looked into a few countries where the cost of living could be lower without sacrificing our quality of life.

We looked at Spain, Portugal, Ecuador, Panama, Costa Rica, and Mexico. Mexico kept coming up as our number one option. I grew up here, for starters, but it also helped that both Dustin and I have spent a lot of time in Mexico and were familiar with various cities and Mexican culture.

I began to research everything I could about moving to Mexico and found that a lot of the information I found online was outdated, confusing, contradicting, or had failed to be accurate. I found a lot of great free resources online about moving to Mexico and retiring in Mexico.

But I also found a lot of terrible and wrong advice.

I’ve done hundreds of hours of research, and with the help of experts, I started this handy website where I share accurate, easy-to-follow, and up-to-date information with YOU in mind.

This website was created to share accurate information about retiring and living in Mexico straight from sources like the Mexican Government, Real Estate Professionals, Immigration Experts, Expat Tax Experts, and the like.

It’s a team effort!

Dustin helps me manage everything website-related, and I focus on blog posts, videos, and social media. And together, we run Mexico Relocation Guide!

I’ve met a lot of people who love living here!

However, I have also met some folks who believed stories they read online of Mexico being a paradise where you can live like royalty on pennies, with all of the comforts of back home. Some people I’ve met moved to Mexico without visiting first. Some of these people were greatly disappointed when the reality of their new home was not the rose-colored-glasses vision they had read about online.

So, some people move back home with tremendous financial loss and a lot of unnecessary stress.

Mexico isn’t for everyone!
